The Seattle Seahawks have suffered a series of significant injuries during the preseason that will impact their roster moving forward. The team lost three key players within just one week, beginning with wide receiver Jake Bobo, who sustained a right leg injury during a joint practice with the Tennessee Titans earlier in the week that ended his season before it began.
The situation worsened during Sunday night’s preseason matchup against Tennessee, which the Seahawks lost 19-16. Safety Bud Clark, a second-round draft pick, suffered an ankle fracture on the Titans’ opening play from scrimmage and will be sidelined for multiple months. Offensive guard Mason Richman also departed the game with an injury that Head Coach Mike Macdonald characterized as long-term in nature.
The injury troubles extend beyond these three players. Backup safety Rodney Thomas II recently underwent hand surgery to address a fracture and may have an opportunity to return in the coming week. Richman was filling in as a starter at left guard during the game, suggesting the offensive line depth will be tested as the season progresses. Coach Macdonald acknowledged the difficult circumstances, describing the week’s accumulation of injuries as “heartbreaking” for the organization.
