The theme song for the popular “Comedy Bang Bang” podcast, composed by Reggie Watts, has been removed from recent episodes following serious allegations about the comedian and musician’s behavior. A Rolling Stone investigation published Thursday detailed claims from multiple women who dated Watts, alleging he displayed “reckless and selfish” conduct related to drug use within their relationships. The theme song appeared in an episode aired August 17 but was notably absent from Monday’s installment.
The report centers on Watts’ late ex-girlfriend Katherine McCollough, whose family and friends contend that her substance abuse escalated dramatically during their relationship. McCollough died by suicide in Peru in March 2026. According to those close to her, her drug consumption became a “central” aspect of their time together, and they believe her outcome might have differed had she not been exposed to Watts’ advocacy for certain substances. Beyond McCollough’s case, five additional women interviewed by Rolling Stone described similar patterns, with two characterizing their relationships with Watts as “emotionally and psychologically abusive.”
Through his attorney, Watts denied the allegations as “dangerously false” and rejected suggestions that he bore responsibility for McCollough’s death. His lawyer stated that McCollough was already an experienced drug user who did not require encouragement. Representatives for Watts, podcast host Scott Aukerman, and the show itself have not yet provided comment regarding the theme song’s removal.
