Law enforcement responded to the residence of celebrity blogger Perez Hilton on Tuesday after receiving multiple reports from the public regarding a concerning livestream. The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office confirmed that officers were alerted to an individual broadcasting acts of self-harm through TikTok, and deputies subsequently located and visited the residence.
Upon arrival, law enforcement found Hilton alone at his home and engaged with family members who were present at the scene. The Sheriff’s Office emphasized its approach to the situation, noting that officers prioritized de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention strategies designed to prevent harm and reduce unnecessary force during mental health emergencies.
According to a statement from the department, deputies temporarily withdrew from the immediate situation while maintaining observation and providing assistance to family members. The original video in question was subsequently removed from the social media platform. Neither representatives for Hilton nor TikTok provided immediate comment regarding the incident.
Hilton, known for founding a prominent gossip website in the 2000s, has undergone a notable public transformation in recent years. Once criticized for controversial celebrity commentary, he has since shifted toward family-oriented content and adopted a more measured public presence, reflecting sentiments he expressed in a 2012 interview about moving away from harmful behavior.
