Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton has entered a residential treatment program following a serious incident last month. According to a statement released by his family on September 14, Hilton is expected to remain in the facility for several weeks as part of his recovery process. During his stay, he will have no access to phones or computers and minimal contact with loved ones to allow him to concentrate on his mental health.
The announcement came more than a month after Hilton was hospitalized in early August following a livestreamed incident at his Miami home. Emergency responders treated him for multiple injuries and an overdose before he was admitted under Florida’s Baker Act for mental health evaluation and care.
Hilton’s family also used the opportunity to address what they described as inaccurate reports circulating online about his condition. They denied claims that he had experienced memory loss, confusion about the current year, or severe physical injuries requiring extensive bandaging. The family emphasized that Hilton remains mentally sharp and communicates clearly with his relatives. His three children are currently being cared for by their grandmother.
The family’s statement concluded with a broader message about accountability and growth, noting that Hilton has spent years acknowledging past mistakes from his career. They urged the public to refrain from celebrating the crisis, calling such behavior inappropriate regardless of his controversial history.
