Four actors were photographed on the famous Abbey Road crossing while filming director Sam Mendes’ forthcoming Beatles biographical project. Paul Mescal, Joseph Quinn, Barry Keoghan, and Harris Dickinson recreated the legendary album cover location during production of what has been titled “The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event.” Video footage of the scene was shared across social media platforms, generating significant attention among fans of the legendary band.
The ambitious four-part film series will present the story from each band member’s individual perspective. Mescal is cast as Paul McCartney, Quinn portrays George Harrison, Keoghan takes on the role of Ringo Starr, and Dickinson plays John Lennon. Additional cast members include Saoirse Ronan as Linda McCartney, Anna Sawai as Yoko Ono, and James Norton as Brian Epstein, among others. The project marks the first time The Beatles’ estates have authorized the use of their life rights and music for a theatrical film adaptation.
Sony Pictures plans to release all four films in April 2028, though the specific rollout schedule has not been finalized. Director Mendes has described the venture as a “first binge-able theatrical experience.” According to Sony’s chief Tom Rothman, principal photography is expected to span approximately one year. This marks a landmark moment in Beatles cinema, representing an unprecedented collaborative effort between the band’s legacy and the film industry.
