The Panthers put up 37 points in the Week 1 matchup, demonstrating an offensive unit capable of producing explosive moments and sustained drives.
Head coach Dave Canales, who previously handled play-calling duties himself, expressed satisfaction with Idzik’s performance. Canales highlighted the rhythm of the offensive scheme and praised Idzik’s ability to get plays in on time while keeping the offense cohesive for quarterback Bryce Young and his teammates. The Panthers accumulated 478 total yards of offense during the contest.
Young completed 361 passing yards and three touchdowns, marking the second-highest total of his four-year career. The quarterback also endorsed Idzik’s work, noting that communication between the sideline and field was strong. Young acknowledged that improved execution from the players could help bring more of Idzik’s called plays to fruition moving forward.
