Nathan Fielder has partnered with director Lance Oppenheim to create a documentary centered on Elizabeth Holmes, the disgraced Theranos founder. Titled “You Can See Everything,” the film made its debut at the Telluride Film Festival and will arrive in theaters in October through A24, marking an unexpected exploration of Holmes’ life during a pivotal period.
The documentary captures Holmes in the weeks before her 2023 incarceration, with Fielder and his crew documenting her daily activities over a three-year span. According to reports, the filmmaker actually resided with Holmes and her husband Billy Evans while producing the project, providing an intimate look at their household during this tumultuous time.
During a post-screening discussion, Fielder acknowledged the difficulty in interpreting what the crew witnessed. He explained that despite their collective efforts and intelligence, the team struggled to understand the events unfolding before them. The director admitted his continued bewilderment, expressing hope that audiences might help him make sense of his unusual experience documenting Holmes.
Holmes was convicted in 2022 of defrauding investors and received a sentence of 11 years and three months. She is currently scheduled for release in August 2032, though her sentence has been reduced twice since her conviction. The documentary promises to offer viewers an unprecedented window into her world during these extraordinary circumstances.
