The child’s identity remains undisclosed, with Prime Minister Calvin Armstrong Rwomiire Akiiki announcing only that the king had left a son who would be identified at an appropriate time. The family argues that Kijanangoma’s appointment violates the late king’s wishes.
Babiito clan elders have defended their choice, stating that wills do not determine succession and that Oyo failed to formally introduce his son through customary procedures.
