Peermusic has entered into a worldwide publishing agreement with My Morning Jacket and its lead vocalist Jim James, according to an announcement from Jamie Cerreta, President of U.S. and Canada operations. The partnership will handle publishing rights for future My Morning Jacket releases as well as James’s solo work going forward, beginning with his upcoming solo album “Wowed Out,” scheduled for release on August 28 through ATO Records.
The agreement represents a continuation of a long-standing professional relationship spanning more than two decades. Cerreta originally signed both My Morning Jacket and James to a publishing contract with Chrysalis in 2002, establishing a foundation that has endured across subsequent career developments.
James expressed enthusiasm about the new arrangement, praising Cerreta’s guidance and support throughout their years of collaboration. Cerreta reciprocated the sentiment, emphasizing his respect for James’s songwriting abilities and his confidence in their shared future at Peermusic. The deal underscores the company’s commitment to building its roster with established and creatively accomplished artists.
