Miyu Yamashita shared the lead at the FM Championship after carding a 2-under 70 on Friday at TPC Boston. The Japanese golfer, fresh off a dominant nine-shot victory at last week’s CPKC Women’s Open in Canada, reached 10-under par during her round before a late bogey cost her the outright lead. She finished tied with Hyo Joo Kim and Allisen Corpuz at 9-under 135 after two rounds.
A win this weekend would make Yamashita the fourth consecutive LPGA golfer to claim back-to-back victories in 2026. Hyo Joo Kim, Nelly Kord, and Haeran Ryu have all achieved the feat earlier this year. Yamashita’s steady performance featured birdies at multiple holes, though she also recorded two bogeys during her second round at the tournament.
Several other competitors positioned themselves well for the weekend. Morgane Metraux and Ruoning Yin shot impressive 7-under 65s to sit in fourth place, while Suvichaya Vinijchaitham posted the day’s best score of 65 to reach a tie for ninth. Defending champion Lottie Woad struggled to keep pace, managing a 73 that left her tied for 27th place.
The FM Championship at TPC Boston features one of the largest purses on the LPGA Tour, with $4.4 million in total prize money up for grabs.
