Disney Jr. is expanding its educational programming with a new hybrid series featuring puppeteer and children’s book author Megan Baptist. “Megan and Cupcake Ready for Preschool” combines live-action segments with animated content and will premiere on Disney Jr. and Disney+ this fall. The show builds upon Disney Jr.’s existing “Ready for Preschool” shorts, introducing viewers to a creative space called the WOW Workshop.
Baptist stars alongside an animated character named Cupcake, and together they guide young viewers through interactive learning experiences. The series emphasizes hands-on exploration and play designed to build confidence and curiosity in preschool-aged children. The WOW Workshop serves as both an invention lab and playhouse, stocked with various tools and gadgets that fuel imaginative adventures throughout the show.
A collection of ten one-minute introductory shorts will begin rolling out on Disney Jr.’s YouTube channel today, offering viewers a first look at the characters and setting. The full-length episodes, which integrate live-action interactions with existing “Ready for Preschool” content, will arrive on both platforms later this fall. This addition strengthens Disney Jr.’s slate of educational programming, which already includes popular titles like “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse” and the recently acquired “Gracie’s Corner.”
