The win marked the franchise’s third IFL title since joining the league in 2017 and their eighth championship overall.
Meylor’s triumph held special significance as he faced his former team, where he had been named league MVP the previous season. Last year, he came narrowly short of a championship with Green Bay, stopped just shy of the goal line as time expired in a 64-61 loss to Vegas. The Rattlers’ potent offensive attack proved nearly unstoppable, scoring on all but one possession during regulation, while the league’s top-ranked defense limited Green Bay’s opportunities in the second half.
The game remained competitive through halftime, with both teams tied 23-23 after an eventful first half that included missed field goal attempts and dramatic final seconds. However, the Rattlers pulled away in the second half, outscoring Green Bay and ultimately securing the championship when defensive back Don Willis recovered a fumble in the end zone with 39 seconds remaining. Meylor earned game MVP honors for his outstanding performance.
