Real Salt Lake suffered a 4-3 defeat to FC Dallas on Wednesday evening at America First Field in Sandy, concluding a demanding fifteen-day homestand that featured five matches. The loss ended RSL’s unbeaten stretch across all competitions, which had lasted five games through the month of August, though the club remains without a victory in league play since May.
Spanish forward Sergi Solans delivered a standout performance despite the result, achieving a significant milestone for the franchise. Solans netted his ninth goal of the season, establishing a new club record for most goals scored by a rookie in a single year. The striker has been particularly prolific in recent weeks, finding the back of the net in four consecutive matches and tallying five goals in six games. Alongside Solans, midfielder Morgan Guilavogui and Diego Luna also contributed goals in the attacking effort, with Luna equalizing the match at 3-3 before Dallas secured a late winner.
FC Dallas struck early and often, with Petar Musa scoring twice and Ran Binyamin adding the decisive goal in stoppage time. RSL head coach Pablo Mastroeni emphasized the importance of accountability following the defeat, stating that the team must focus on finding solutions and learning from setbacks rather than making excuses. The club will look to bounce back on Saturday when they travel to face Orlando City FC.
