Broadway is welcoming a fresh talent this fall with Bradley Jaden’s stage debut on the Great White Way. The performer, who recently completed a praised performance as Javert in “Les Misérables: The Arena Concert Spectacular,” will join the cast of the new musical “Wanted” this October.
Jaden will share the stage with previously announced cast members Solea Pfeiffer, Liisi LaFontaine, Luke James, and Ledisi. The production, characterized as both “soulful and dangerous,” is set in 1893 Texas and follows twin sisters Mary and Martha Clarke as they navigate survival while concealing their identities. The sisters, who are Black women passing for white, find themselves pursued by powerful forces while fighting to secure their family’s future and legacy.
The musical features an original book and lyrics by Angelica Chéri, a descendant of the real Clarke sisters, with music composed by Ross Baum. Director Stevie Walker-Webb will helm the production, with choreography by Chelsey Arce. Preview performances begin October 15 at the James Earl Jones Theatre, with the official opening scheduled for November 8.
Before his Broadway bow, Jaden has performed in international productions including “Wicked,” “Shrek,” and “Camelot.” Critics praised his recent work in “Les Misérables,” with one reviewer highlighting his portrayal as a standout performance in the cast.
