Social media sensation Lala Sadii is transitioning to traditional television with a new scripted series at Disney Channel and Disney+. The live-action project, titled “Lala IRL,” will follow the content creator as she juggles the complexities of fame alongside typical teenage challenges. The show aims to provide viewers an intimate look at what happens behind the scenes of social media stardom.
The series draws inspiration from Sadii’s real experiences navigating life as an influencer with millions of followers. The narrative explores conflicts arising from her online presence, including tensions with classmates, concerned family members, and the various pressures that accompany being a digital celebrity. The show will examine both the allure and complications of her unexpected rise to prominence.
Sadii has amassed over 25 million followers on TikTok, where her content—ranging from comedic sketches to original music tracks—has accumulated more than 1.7 billion likes. Writer and director Peter Paige, known for work on projects including “Queer as Folk,” will helm the project. The production team includes executive producers Lauren Gellert, Billy Mann, and representatives from Endemol Shine North America.
