Elche has firmly denied speculation regarding a potential reunion with Barcelona defender Hector Fort. The Spanish La Liga club’s general manager Pedro Schinocca characterized the reports as merely gossip from the transfer market, offering little encouragement that a deal would materialize. Fort, who spent the previous season on loan at Elche, returned to Barcelona this summer after his temporary stint concluded without a purchase clause.
During his time at Elche, the young full-back demonstrated solid performances under manager Eder Sarabia, making 14 appearances with respectable statistics. Fort completed 83 percent of his passes while contributing two goals and two assists across his appearances. However, a significant change in circumstances has altered the prospect of his return, as Sarabia has since departed the club and been replaced by Martin Anselmi, whose tactical preferences may differ substantially from his predecessor.
With Schinocca’s dismissal of reunion talks, Fort’s immediate future remains uncertain.
