The Nordic Council Film Prize has announced its nominees for 2026, recognizing six Nordic productions selected by an international jury. Directors and filmmakers expressed gratitude for the recognition. Eriksson-Hecht emphasized the nomination’s significance for bringing attention to her film’s themes, while Nordahl highlighted her intention to depict family conflict authentically. Dam noted particular importance for Faroese cinema, stating the nomination represents his nation’s cultural voice within the Nordic community as it moves toward greater independence.
