The cast of HBO Max’s Emmy-winning comedy series “Hacks” will bring their characters to the stage for a special one-night-only event. Jean Smart and Hannah Einbinder, along with other cast members, will perform as their on-screen characters at the Fonda Theatre in Hollywood on Friday. The production, titled “Deborah Vance & Friends & Enemies Live!,” marks the first time Smart and Einbinder have appeared in character outside of the television show.
The hour-long event will feature Smart as Deborah Vance and Einbinder as Ava, with additional cast members participating. The show begins at approximately 7:30 p.m., with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. Attendees will enjoy complimentary food and beverages, including drinks, pizza, soft pretzels, and popcorn. The event has already sold out.
The special performance comes as the show’s final season has garnered significant recognition. “Hacks” received 24 Emmy nominations for its fifth and final season, setting a record for the most nominations ever received by a comedy series’ final season. The show previously won outstanding comedy series at the 2025 Emmy Awards and remains a strong contender in this year’s competition.
