Detroit Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams sat out practice sessions over the weekend and into Monday due to a minor shoulder ailment. Head coach Dan Campbell addressed the situation, indicating the injury is not considered serious and expressing confidence in Williams’ availability moving forward, though he offered no specific recovery timeline.
In Williams’ absence from team activities, backup receivers Tom Kennedy and Tay Martin stepped in to take offensive snaps with the starting unit. The Lions appear to be taking a cautious approach with their talented receiver rather than rushing him back onto the field.
The team also addressed another injury concern involving cornerback Nick Whiteside, who is dealing with a minor soft-tissue issue in his hamstring. Campbell similarly downplayed the severity of Whiteside’s condition, suggesting it should not develop into a long-term problem for the secondary.
