Pop musician Jade recently participated in Rolling Stone’s Song Shuffle series, where she randomly played tracks from her personal Spotify library. Speaking backstage at Lollapalooza, the artist revealed her music tastes are notably diverse, describing her curated collection as “quite eclectic” after recently discovering Spotify’s like button feature.
The shuffle began with “DNA” from her former group Little Mix, a track on which Jade performed vocals. She expressed pride in the band’s legacy while also admitting she skips certain songs, including “Oops,” which she dislikes. Her debut solo album “That’s Showbiz Baby!” also appeared multiple times in the shuffle, including the track “It Girl,” which Jade characterized as a confident anthem addressing difficult experiences with men in the music industry.
Beyond her own work, Jade’s library showcases an appreciation for theatrical music, indie artists, and contemporary pop producers. She cited the musical “Rent” as one of her top three favorites and expressed interest in potentially playing the lead role of Mimi someday. Other artists featured in her shuffle included Bon Iver, MNEK, and Jimmy Nail, reflecting her eclectic musical interests spanning multiple genres and eras.
