Las Vegas Raiders offensive lineman Jackson Powers-Johnson departed Monday’s training camp practice after sustaining an injury during the red zone drill period. The player went down during the session but was able to get back on his feet quickly before exiting to the sideline with a member of the coaching staff once the drill concluded.
The specific nature and severity of the injury remain unclear at this time. Powers-Johnson was competing with second-year player Caleb Rogers for the starting right guard position, with Powers-Johnson holding the advantage through the early stages of camp. He had been receiving the majority of first-team repetitions and was named to the team’s initial depth chart at the position.
This development presents a potential opportunity for Rogers to strengthen his case for the starting role with approximately two weeks remaining in the preseason schedule. The Raiders are particularly focused on addressing offensive line concerns after the unit struggled significantly last season, ranking last in the league in sacks allowed and rushing yards per attempt.
Powers-Johnson has dealt with durability concerns throughout his professional career. The former Oregon standout missed time as a rookie due to illness, sat out the final eight games of last season with an ankle injury, and also dealt with a concussion during the 2025 campaign. Additional details about the current injury will be provided as they become available.
