Israeli military operations in the West Bank have intensified, with forces conducting widespread arrests and home demolitions amid escalating tensions. On Tuesday, Israeli troops detained at least 23 Palestinians across multiple governorates, including two children and individuals arrested while engaged in routine activities such as livestock grazing. Simultaneously, authorities demolished several residential structures and commercial buildings, displacing Palestinian families from their properties.
One demolition targeted the family home of Farouq Ramadan in the village of Tal, who was killed during a July confrontation involving Israeli settlers. Israeli policy permits the destruction of homes belonging to relatives of Palestinians involved in incidents against Israelis, a practice that human rights organizations characterize as collective punishment. Additional structures demolished included warehouses, agricultural facilities, and water infrastructure across multiple locations in the Hebron and Nablus regions.
These operations coincided with attacks by Israeli settlers on Palestinian communities. Dozens of settlers assaulted farmers in Al-Mughayyir, resulting in six injuries including children and women. In other incidents, settlers damaged water pipelines in Khirbet Ras al-Ahmar, affecting 30 herding families, and conducted raids in villages near Nablus. A UN official told the Security Council that the West Bank has reached a “breaking point,” citing 76 Palestinian deaths this year, nearly 3,800 displaced individuals, and over 1,400 documented settler attacks affecting approximately 260 communities.
