Ipswich Town have submitted a revised bid for Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Exequiel Palacios following the rejection of their initial offer. The newly promoted Premier League club expressed confidence that negotiations could be concluded within the coming hours, according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano.
While no formal agreement has been reached between the two clubs, Romano indicated that Ipswich’s pursuit remains progressing smoothly. The Argentine international has reportedly expressed interest in making the switch to English football after spending the last five and a half seasons at Leverkusen.
Leverkusen maintains a strong position in these discussions, as Palacios remains bound by a contract running until 2030. This lengthy agreement provides the Bundesliga side with considerable leverage as they negotiate the midfielder’s potential departure.
