Two accomplished performers are joining the cast for the fifth and final season of HBO’s “Industry.” Ben Platt will portray Matt Crenshaw, a venture capitalist involved in backing a wellness-technology startup. Russell Tovey takes on the role of Declan P. Davis, serving as deputy to a left-wing politician in the series.
Platt brings extensive entertainment credentials to the role, having earned a Tony Award for his performance in “Dear Evan Hansen” on Broadway. His television work includes appearances in “The Politician” and “The Beauty,” while his film career spans the “Dear Evan Hansen” adaptation, “Theater Camp,” and two installments of the “Pitch Perfect” franchise.
Tovey’s resume includes notable television roles in HBO’s “Looking” and the drama series “Years and Years,” along with appearances in shows such as “Being Human,” “Quantico,” and “Doctor Who.” He has also appeared in various film projects throughout his career.
These latest casting announcements follow the revelation of other Season 5 additions including Cary Elwes, Dianna Agron, and Sam Riley, among others. The final season will conclude the drama series that explores the world of high finance and ambition.
