Collective Studios’ Historyverse is developing an original series centered on Indian independence icon Bhagat Singh. The production is being created alongside Hathiramani Commercial Ventures, with entrepreneur and investor Manish Hathiramani serving as co-producer on his inaugural producing venture.
Rather than retelling the well-documented chapters of Singh’s revolutionary activities, the series aims to examine the formative years and intellectual evolution that defined the man behind the historical figure. The show will explore Singh’s upbringing, educational development, and the social and political environment of early 20th-century India that influenced his ideological transformation.
According to Sudeep Lahiri, head of channels and distribution at Collective Media Network, the project seeks to uncover lesser-known dimensions of Singh’s life beyond the established narrative. Hathiramani expressed similar enthusiasm, stating his interest lies in understanding the person before becoming a legendary revolutionary. The series joins Historyverse’s existing slate of history and mythology-based projects featuring figures such as Shivaji and Swami Samarth.
Singh’s life has previously been depicted in numerous Indian films, including “The Legend of Bhagat Singh” and “Rang De Basanti.” Additional details regarding the title, cast, and production timeline remain to be announced.
