Cards Against Humanity is launching a crowdfunding campaign to construct a monument dedicated to Elon Musk on property it owns near Starbase, Texas. The card game company framed the project as an effort to create something that will provoke reflection, inviting supporters to contribute $10 to participate in designing the structure.
The company has a history of using its land holdings for attention-grabbing initiatives. In 2017, Cards Against Humanity purchased the parcel specifically to interfere with border wall construction plans. More recently, the organization filed a lawsuit against SpaceX in 2024, alleging trespassing and property damage on the site.
Through an Instagram announcement, Cards Against Humanity established what it calls the “Official Elon Musk is a Sad Little Bitch With No Friends Monument Design Committee” to solicit input from contributors about the project. The company is capitalizing on its reputation for provocative humor and unconventional activism to engage supporters in the monument’s development.
