The Drug Enforcement Administration has joined the investigation into actress Hayden Panettiere’s death, according to reports confirmed by multiple news outlets. The Greenville City Police Department in South Carolina continues to serve as the primary investigating agency, with the DEA providing assistance in the case.
Panettiere was found unresponsive on August 16 and was pronounced dead at the scene. Emergency responders reported discussions of a potential overdose and cardiac arrest at the time of her passing. An autopsy was completed the following day, with the coroner stating that no signs of physical trauma were identified that could have contributed to her death. The cause and manner of death remain under investigation pending additional studies.
