Google has introduced its competitor to Apple’s AirTag, unveiling the Pixel Tag at $29 during its Made by Google event this week. The device functions similarly to AirTag by enabling users to locate misplaced items such as keys and bags, but operates through Google’s Find Hub network rather than Apple’s ecosystem. Android users can integrate the Pixel Tag into their phone’s existing Find Hub application, which already supports locating lost smartphones and other connected devices.
The Pixel Tag features a slim, oval design that differs visually from Apple’s compact circular AirTag. Measuring 1.1 inches wide and 1.8 inches tall with a thickness of 0.2 inches, the device is slightly smaller than its competitor. Both trackers share comparable weight and durability ratings, with each capable of surviving submersion in one meter of water for thirty minutes. Users can also locate and activate the Pixel Tag’s built-in speaker from a Pixel Watch.
Like the AirTag, the Pixel Tag relies on Bluetooth and Ultra Wideband technology for tracking precision and uses a replaceable CR2032 coin cell battery that provides approximately one year of operation. The device launches November 11, 2026, with pricing at $29 for a single unit or $99 for a four-pack bundle.
