Google has unveiled a new customization option for Pixel devices as the company simultaneously releases its latest smartphone lineup. Gboard, the default keyboard application on Pixel phones and select other Android devices, is rolling out an emoji sizing feature to beta testers.
The upcoming feature allows users to control the display scale of emojis through the keyboard’s settings menu. Once the capability becomes available to all users, individuals can navigate to Settings, then Preferences, then Appearance to locate a dedicated emoji size slider positioned alongside the existing font size control. The adjustment tool enables emojis to enlarge or reduce in size based on user preference, potentially benefiting those who require improved visibility when using emoticons.
While the feature is currently limited to beta participants, Google has not announced a specific timeline for its general release to the broader user base. The addition coincides with the company’s introduction of new Pixel phone models, including the Pixel 11 Pro Fold, which could become early beneficiaries of the keyboard enhancement once it reaches full deployment.
