The New York Giants have completed another offensive line trade, sending guard Josh Ezeudu to the Kansas City Chiefs in exchange for a seventh-round draft pick. The move represents the second recent deal involving New York’s front five, following the earlier trade of Daniel Faalele to Jacksonville.
Ezeudu, 26, has been with the Giants since the 2022 NFL Draft when New York selected him in the third round from the University of North Carolina. Throughout his tenure, the lineman has primarily filled reserve roles, initially serving as backup left guard before transitioning to swing tackle responsibilities in recent seasons, where he has typically backed up Andrew Thomas.
The trade comes after Ezeudu appeared in preseason action at multiple positions, including snaps at right guard and right tackle against Miami. The emergence of rookie tackle J.C. Davis, a sixth-round selection, may have influenced the Giants’ decision to explore the trade market. Additionally, the move could allow New York to retain both Lucas Patrick and Bryan Hudson on the roster as they compete for backup center duties.
