Week 4 of high school football in Licking County delivered dramatic finishes as several teams secured victories through late-game scoring. The competitive evening showcased strong performances across the region, with multiple squads demonstrating their offensive capabilities.
Licking Valley and Newark Catholic continued their undefeated seasons, each improving to 4-0 on the year. Licking Valley dominated Lakewood with a 54-7 victory, while Newark Catholic edged Worthington Christian 15-6. Heath also posted an impressive win, defeating Washington CH 58-28 in a high-scoring matchup.
In other notable contests, Utica outlasted Newcomerstown 48-34, Northridge pulled out a close victory over Lakota 23-22, and Johnstown prevailed against Mount Vernon 37-30. Watkins Memorial dominated Marietta 42-13, while Buckeye Valley defeated Licking Heights 27-12. Columbus Academy’s convincing 36-14 win over Granville and Groveport’s 35-14 triumph against Newark rounded out the evening’s results.
