Southwest Florida high school football showcased outstanding individual performances during Week 4 of the 2026 season, with several players earning recognition for their contributions to their teams’ successes. The News-Press and Naples Daily News honored these standout athletes with Game Ball awards following an exciting week of competition.
Notable performances included Gulf Coast’s Gio Marenco, whose record-breaking 411 rushing yards and six touchdowns led the Sharks to a high-scoring victory over Estero. Golden Gate advanced in overtime against Barron Collier with strong quarterback play from Tim Stauffer, who threw for 206 yards and three touchdowns. Fort Myers also claimed a narrow victory over Mariner in another closely contested matchup that showcased competitive regional play.
Beyond these marquee games, numerous players made significant impacts across the region. Standout performances ranged from Riverdale’s freshman receiver Johnny Colston, who accumulated 167 receiving yards and three touchdowns, to Naples’ Jevan Raphael, who rushed for 195 yards and three scores. Quarterback Maxton Grynka of St. John Neumann impressed with 277 passing yards and six touchdowns, while Palmetto Ridge’s Harland Soucek distributed the ball effectively with 304 passing yards and three touchdowns across eight different receivers.
Week 5 continues the regional football action with additional matchups scheduled throughout the coming week, as teams prepare for increasingly competitive district play as the season progresses.
