Despite graduating three all-state performers from last year’s roster, including standout quarterback Riley Tschetter, the team earned the preseason No. 1 ranking in Class 9A from South Dakota’s prep media poll.
Head coach Dustin Tschetter expressed confidence in his squad’s potential, noting that returning talent includes four offensive and five defensive starters from the previous state championship team. Key contributors returning include senior lineman Hunter Nankivel and junior defensive back and wide receiver Easton Tschetter, both all-state selections. Tschetter emphasized that while the program must replace significant production, the remaining players have experience competing at a high level and are prepared to step into expanded roles.
Freeman’s schedule reflects the program’s new classification placement, featuring opponents from the Cornbelt Conference and other Class 9A schools.
