Three legendary Florida Gators football players will gather in Gainesville on August 23 for a special charity event. Tim Tebow, Danny Wuerffel, and Steve Spurrier—all Heisman Trophy winners whose bronze statues stand outside The Swamp—will meet fans at the Alachua County Sports & Events Center and Spurrier’s Gridiron Grille in Celebration Pointe.
The interactive experience allows attendees to participate in unique activities with the football icons. Fans will have the opportunity to catch touchdown passes from either Tebow or Wuerffel, or take a handoff from Spurrier. Each participant receives an autographed football, a personal photograph, and a professionally recorded video to commemorate the encounter.
The event coincides with the inaugural Florida Legends Card Show, running August 22-23, which celebrates sports memorabilia and trading card enthusiasts. Additional former Gators athletes expected to attend include basketball and NBA veteran Marreese Speights and baseball’s Mike Zunino, a Golden Spikes Award winner. All proceeds from the weekend will support the Isaiah 117 House, an organization dedicated to assisting foster children in Alachua County as they await permanent placement.
