A Mumbai-based children’s entertainment company has debuted its first original animated series on Netflix. “Emomee: Big Skills for Little Ones, Minis” consists of 20 episodes running approximately 11 minutes each, following three main characters through everyday scenarios aimed at developing essential competencies in young viewers, including emotional awareness, problem-solving abilities, kindness and self-assurance.
Emomee, founded by Pooja Jauhari and Varun Duggirala, distinguishes itself through what the company calls a “life-skills-first” content strategy, positioning itself as an alternative to algorithm-driven children’s programming that has faced criticism from parents and educators worldwide. The company achieved substantial growth before this Netflix milestone, accumulating one billion views across more than 100 countries and attracting 2.5 million subscribers within its first 15 months of operation.
The brand gained additional visibility after appearing on the Indian version of “Shark Tank,” where all five investors offered deals at the founders’ requested valuation of INR50 crore. According to Jauhari, the Netflix release represents a significant step toward establishing Emomee as a global entertainment franchise, with plans to expand into merchandise, licensing agreements and experiential programming.
Beyond streaming, Emomee intends to leverage its platform growth into additional revenue streams and market opportunities. The company plans to participate in Mipcom to explore fresh partnerships in distribution and licensing sectors.
