Country music star Ella Langley has achieved a major milestone on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Her track “Choosin’ Texas” has now spent 19 weeks at the number one position, matching the longest-running reign for a non-holiday song alongside Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” and Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road.”
Released in October 2025, the song initially gained traction and became Langley’s first number one hit in February. However, it saw a dramatic surge in popularity over the summer months, maintaining its chart-topping position since July 4 for nine consecutive weeks. This achievement marks the longest reign at number one by any female country artist to date.
The success of “Choosin’ Texas” reflects the current dominance of country music on the charts. Earlier in August, the genre held all five top positions on the Billboard Hot 100, demonstrating its cultural momentum. While Langley’s record is impressive, Mariah Carey’s holiday classic “All I Want For Christmas Is You” still holds the overall record with 22 weeks at number one.
Langley released her second album, Dandelion, in April and continues to tour in support of the project throughout the summer season.
