Speaking on a television news program, Gallego emphasized that the lack of preparation for the military engagement and its duration has created mounting difficulties for personnel aboard the ship.
Governor Wes Moore of Maryland, himself a military veteran, expressed frustration with the administration’s response to concerns raised by crew members and their families. Moore suggested that greater empathy should be shown toward those serving in the military and their loved ones who make significant sacrifices for the nation.
