Def Leppard will be the subject of an authorized documentary arriving in theaters during early 2027. Titled “Long Live Def Leppard,” the film marks the legendary rock band’s first official full-length documentary and will be distributed by Bleecker Street’s Crosswalk in North America. According to promotional materials, the documentary will showcase exclusive interviews with all five current band members—vocalist Joe Elliott, guitarists Phil Collen and Vivian Campbell, drummer Rick Allen, and bassist Rick Savage—alongside never-before-seen archival materials and behind-the-scenes access.
The documentary will explore pivotal moments in the band’s history, including the commercial success of landmark albums “Pyromania” and “Hysteria,” as well as two tragic events that tested their resilience. The film will address drummer Rick Allen’s devastating accident that resulted in the loss of his arm and the death of founding guitarist Steve Clark, demonstrating how the group persevered through adversity to maintain their status as enduring rock icons.
Feuerzeig expressed enthusiasm about the project, noting his long-standing appreciation for the band since witnessing their early performances.
