Crystal Palace have completed the signing of Quinten Timber from Marseille, securing the Dutch midfielder on a long-term deal ahead of the transfer deadline. The 25-year-old has agreed to a contract with the Premier League club that extends until 2031.
Timber’s departure from Marseille comes after a brief stint at the French club, which began in January. Financial difficulties at Marseille necessitated the sale of several important players during the summer transfer window, with the midfielder among those to depart.
The Netherlands international has previously established himself as a key player in European football. He spent considerable time at Feyenoord, where he achieved success including winning domestic trophies and serving as the club’s captain. He also featured in the Netherlands squad at this summer’s World Cup and has earned 13 caps for his country.
Timber’s move to England follows his brother Jurrien, who joined Arsenal in 2023. The signing represents another addition to manager Pierre Sage’s squad as Crystal Palace prepare for the upcoming Premier League season and their Europa League campaign.
