Peacock has unveiled the full trailer for its upcoming horror series “Crystal Lake,” featuring actress Linda Cardellini in the lead role. The prequel to the classic “Friday the 13th” franchise will launch on the streaming platform on October 15, offering viewers a glimpse into the events that shaped the iconic horror universe.
Cardellini portrays Pamela Voorhees during 1971, exploring the character’s life before the original film’s events unfold. The narrative focuses on her son Jason’s drowning and the violent revenge-driven spiral that follows this tragedy. While the trailer presents select frightening moments, the show appears poised to deliver more intense scares upon its full release.
The production promises significant gore and practical effects, according to Cardellini’s recent comments. She described particularly graphic scenes filmed on set, noting the extensive use of realistic blood and violent imagery throughout production. The supporting cast includes Callum Vinson, Nick Cordileone, Joy Suprano, and several other established television actors.
Brad Caleb Kane serves as the series’ creator and showrunner, with Victor Miller, writer of the original 1980 film, among the executive producers.
