Bret Michaels has decided to postpone all remaining tour dates scheduled for 2026 to focus on his health following recent surgical procedures. The Poison frontman, who is living with Type 1 diabetes, recently underwent kidney stone removal and had a ureteral stent placed. Despite these procedures, he attempted a comeback performance in Sugar Hill, Georgia on Friday night.
Medical professionals monitoring Michaels determined immediately after the show that he required significantly more recovery time before returning to touring. His medical team emphasized that the combination of summer heat and humidity could negatively affect his blood sugar levels during the healing process. The singer will spend the next several months resting and working toward full recovery.
Michaels acknowledged the decision through social media, expressing his eagerness to perform for fans while recognizing he may have rushed his return. “I may have just chosen to go sooner than I should have,” he wrote, adding that the band would “come back better than ever.” The cancellation affects multiple performances scheduled for August and September, along with additional shows planned for November.
