The sixth installment in the “Insidious” series is projected to reach $23.7 million by the end of the weekend. However, Marvel’s “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” is still expected to secure first place for the full weekend despite finishing second on Friday with $9.8 million in earnings.
Directed by Jacob Chase, “Out of the Further” tells the story of a young mother who discovers she can access a supernatural dimension inhabited by demons. The film features a cast including Lin Shaye, Amelia Eve, and Brandon Perea. With a production budget of just $18 million, the horror film is performing below its 2023 predecessor “The Red Door,” which opened with $33 million. However, industry analysts note that the horror genre consistently performs well at the box office, suggesting the film should remain profitable despite lower opening numbers.
“Spider-Man: Brand New Day” is anticipated to generate $36.5 million through Sunday, representing a 47% decline from the previous weekend. The film is expected to reach approximately $852 million domestically by the end of the weekend. Meanwhile, “Mutiny,” a Jason Statham action vehicle, debuted in fourth place on Friday with $2.8 million and is projected to earn $7.4 million for the full weekend.
