Sony Music Vision has announced the global theatrical debut of “Always Lalisa,” a documentary centered on Blackpink member Lisa’s transition into a solo career. The film, directed by Sue Kim, will premiere in IMAX theaters and cinemas beginning October 12 before moving to YouTube Premium later in 2026. The project chronicles a transformative period in Lisa’s life as she branches out independently for the first time since her childhood, balancing music, acting, business ventures, and personal privacy.
The documentary will premiere at the Toronto Film Festival ahead of its limited theatrical run, with distribution handled by Trafalgar Releasing. Industry executives expressed enthusiasm for the project, with Tom Mackay, president of Sony Music Vision, stating that the film aims to forge the same global connection that Lisa’s music has established. Marc Allenby of Trafalgar Releasing characterized the documentary as an intimate examination of Lisa’s evolution from group member to internationally recognized artist, noting that devoted fans have eagerly anticipated this story.

She recently made her acting debut in HBO’s “The White Lotus” and has multiple projects in development, including Netflix’s action film “Tygo” and a romantic comedy.
