A Delaware court has ruled in favor of Wayne Barrow, the former manager of the Notorious B.I.G., in a dispute with the late rapper’s widow, R&B artist Faith Evans. The judge determined that Evans must provide Barrow with access to profits from Biggie’s music catalog that belonged to Voletta Wallace, the rapper’s mother who passed away in February 2025 at age 78.
Barrow serves as the sole trustee of Voletta’s estate and oversees a trust that holds a portion of Notorious B.I.G. LLC, the company managing the rapper’s music and intellectual property in partnership with Primary Wave. The court found that Evans had improperly refused to distribute Voletta’s share of profits from a major deal valued at approximately $200 million. Judge Kathaleen St. J. McCormick noted that Evans appeared motivated by anger over Voletta’s decision to remove her son, Christopher Jordan Wallace, as a co-trustee weeks before her death.
Despite this victory, Barrow faces a separate challenge in Pennsylvania. Voletta’s grandson filed a lawsuit questioning Barrow’s authority as trustee and executor, alleging improper influence. Barrow’s legal team has dismissed these claims as an unsuccessful attempt to halt the Delaware proceedings and expressed confidence in their client’s position stewarding the rapper’s legacy.
