Running back Cam Edwards and quarterback Alessio Milivojevic each scored twice for the victorious Spartans. Edwards rushed for 152 yards on 21 carries, including a notable 40-yard gain in the second half, while Milivojevic completed 12 of 20 passes for 170 yards and two touchdown passes. Michigan State’s offensive attack accumulated 472 total yards, with 258 coming on the ground, including 198 rushing yards in the second half alone compared to just 60 in the opening period.
Eastern Michigan’s Noah Kim, making a return to Spartan Stadium, managed 118 passing yards and one rushing touchdown despite a solid effort to keep drives alive on third down. The Eagles scored their only touchdown on a 4-yard Kim run late in the first half but could not sustain offensive momentum against Michigan State’s second-half adjustments.
Michigan State improves to 2-0 with the victory and will face Notre Dame next Saturday at Notre Dame Stadium. Eastern Michigan falls to 1-2 on the season.
