Beyoncé has unveiled a commemorative edition of her 2006 album “B’Day” to mark its 20th anniversary, coinciding with her September 4th birthday. The expanded digital version contains 31 tracks total, blending remastered original songs with several previously unreleased recordings that showcase new creative directions for the project.
The anniversary release features notable collaborations with contemporary and legendary artists. A duet with Selena Quintanilla on “Irreemplazable (Como La Flor)” was created with approval from Selena’s estate, while another track pairs Beyoncé with Colombian artist Maluma on “Cuerpo Tumbao (Get Me Bodied),” which incorporates a sample from Cuban icon Celia Cruz’s classic “La Negra Tiene Tumbao.” Additional unreleased material includes previously unheard songs and a collaboration with producer Pharrell Williams.
The reissue extends beyond audio improvements to include visual enhancements. The accompanying music videos have been remastered in 4K resolution, with the “Déjà Vu” video—originally shot on 35mm and directed by Sophie Muller—receiving particular attention. The original 2006 album achieved platinum status with hits including “Irreplaceable” and “Ring the Alarm,” establishing itself as a commercial and critical success.
