AT&T has unveiled the amiGO Jr. Tab 2, an upgraded children’s tablet designed to provide enhanced connectivity and features compared to its predecessor. The new device brings 5G wireless capability, allowing users to access AT&T’s network directly rather than depending solely on WiFi connections—a valuable feature for families on the move or in locations without internet access.
The tablet includes several hardware improvements alongside its 5G functionality. The 8.7-inch display features an anti-glare coating to reduce reflections in bright environments, while an included stylus enables drawing and precise touch interactions. AT&T claims the device delivers over 145 hours of battery life, significantly extending the time between charging sessions. The Tab 2 integrates with AT&T’s existing amiGO product family, including the Jr. Phone and Jr. Watch 2, all managed through a single companion app available on iOS and Android devices.
Parents benefit from comprehensive monitoring and control features through the amiGO app, including screen time management, app and website restrictions, contact approval for calls and messaging, real-time location tracking, and a “School Mode” that disables non-educational content during study periods. Currently available at a promotional price of $4.99 monthly on a 36-month installment plan—down from the standard $6.67 per month—the tablet costs $239.99 when purchased outright. The financing option requires a new AT&T line and offers zero-percent interest for qualified customers.
