Lowry brings significant experience to the Giants organization. The 32-year-old defensive end has played in 132 regular-season games throughout his 10-year career, recording 85 starts, 16.5 sacks, and 271 tackles. Originally drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the fourth round of 2016, Lowry spent seven seasons there before brief stints with the Minnesota Vikings and Pittsburgh Steelers over the past two years.
The signing comes after Lowry faced recent setbacks in his career. He spent last season on injured reserve following a torn ACL and was subsequently released by Pittsburgh during the preseason roster reduction. Despite these challenges, the addition gives New York another option as the team seeks to strengthen its run defense.
