Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli has reportedly declined a move to Turkish champions Galatasaray, despite the club submitting a bid worth approximately €45 million. The Brazilian international has made clear his intention to remain at the north London club rather than pursue a transfer to Istanbul.
Galatasaray’s formal offer arrived as Arsenal indicated willingness to entertain proposals for the 25-year-old, whose contract with the Gunners extends through next summer with an additional one-year extension option available. However, negotiations stalled after Martinelli communicated through his representatives that joining the Turkish side does not align with his career objectives.
Beyond Martinelli, discussions between the two clubs expanded to cover other Arsenal players. Ethan Nwaneri emerged as another potential subject of interest, while Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen’s availability was also raised during negotiations. Reports suggest uncertainty remains over whether Arsenal’s sporting director Andrea Berta initiated inquiries regarding Osimhen or whether the striker was presented as an option by Galatasaray’s representatives.
Multiple sources have since confirmed that Arsenal held talks about a potential Osimhen deal, though no substantial progress has materialized from those conversations. Martinelli’s refusal to depart appears to have effectively concluded the primary objective of Galatasaray’s negotiating efforts with the Premier League club.
