The Team Trump TikTok account shared a video Thursday showing the President approaching a podium, accompanied by text expressing the administration’s position on biological sex and sports participation. Grande responded directly in the comments, demanding that her music no longer be used by the administration and disputing the claims presented in the post.
This confrontation marks the second instance in recent months where Grande has objected to her work being incorporated into Trump-related content. In June, she similarly protested when a version of her 2024 track “Bye” appeared in a White House post depicting immigration enforcement actions. That previous incident resulted in the sound being removed, though the current post featuring “We Can’t Be Friends” remains unchanged on the platform.
Grande joins a growing roster of musicians opposing the use of their music by the Trump administration. Artists including Taylor Swift and Bad Bunny have successfully had their songs removed from official posts, while Noah Kahan publicly stated his disapproval of his work being associated with the administration. Representatives from the White House have not yet responded to requests for comment regarding these ongoing disputes over music licensing and usage.
